2008 WAGE AND FUNDS INCREASES
The special meeting held on March 11, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. at the union hall resulted in the following changes to the economic package:
Annuity $.23 increase to $2.83
Pension $.20 increase to $5.04
Medical $.02 increase to $5.82
Total $.45 increase to funds
Remaining $2.05
New Wage Rate: $34.195
U. A. DUES INCREASE
U. A. dues increased on January 1, 2008 to $24.00 per month for working members, $13.00 for retirees, $34.00 for other business, and $24.00 for metal trades. Yearly dues are: $288.00, $143.00, $374.00, and $288.00 respectively.
NEW CONTRACT
A new 3 year contract was approved my the membership on March 29, 2007.
Effecive April 1, 2007, a $2.50 per hour increase was added to the base wage. On April 17, 2007, the members voted to allocate increases to the fringe funds.
The new package, effective 5/1/07, is: Scale $32.16; Medical $5.80; Pension $4.84; Annuity $2.60; all other funds remain unchanged. The dues checkoff is to increase by $.01 to $.87. On April 1, 2008, a $2.50 per hour increase was approved; on April 1, 2009, the increase will be $2.60 per hour.
TWELFTH ANNUAL PICNIC & CRAB FEAST
The 12th Annual Picnic & Crab Feast will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2008 at Conrad's Ruth Villa in Bengies, MD from 12:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Tickets are $25 for adults and $10 for children 4 - 11 years of age, and are available at the hall. Until August 1, 2008, there is a limit of 8 tickets per member.
